For many years, I’ve been keeping paper journals about vacations, road trips, family happenings, professional milestones, lifestyle projects and musings on daily life. It’s taken me a while to shift to writing online, to determine how best to tackle the brave new world of blogging. Despite a long-standing deep desire to write my memoirs, I was stymied each time I sat down in front of the computer. Significant life events shifted priorities and undermined my efforts at devoting quality time for writing.
After years of trial and error, a writing workshop in early 2023 crystallised my understanding the basics of writing stories from my life. I learned why writing memoirs is vitally important to my own well-being, that blogging is a way of expressing what I think and feel, be fully aware of truths about myself and be deeply understood by others. I began to understand the technology of blog writing – the online platform for organising my ideas, for passing along insights and for leaving visible tracks.

PECosmic is a lifestyle blog. I’ll be sharing stories about living the dream in Prince Edward County, homesteading delights like building a gardening and cooking with farm fresh locally grown products. There will be stories about how I came to live here in The County with husband David, how we continued our volunteerism with gusto, and how our passion for sailing has changed over the years.
Our move to The County reawakened my lifelong passion for fibre and textile artistry, specifically the art of crochet. I explored different design techniques for making wearable art using luxurious natural yarns like cotton, silk, linen, alpaca and wool. As my inventory grows, I’ve refined my focus on what feels real, grounded and natural in my yarn craft. I’ve figured out my brand, the intricacies of getting social online, and setting up an online shop – CosmicCrochetPEC.
Expect lots of stories about crochet as therapy and creating wearable art, the evolution of my custom crochet micro-enterprise, and the inspirational fibre arts and crafts culture in The County.
Thus begins my journey of joyful rediscovery, uncovering layers of my experiences past and present, and reflections about the nurturing aura of Prince Edward County’s cosmos. I invite you to follow along.
